Guest Information:

Dress Code 

It is required that all members and their guests wear suitable attire at all times on the course and in and around the clubhouse. Members and their guests are expected to dress tastefully in a manner appropriate to private golf clubs. As dress is a personal matter and as contemporary golfing attire changes from time to time, any questions regarding the acceptability of any particular apparel can be reviewed with the professional staff. Management has the right to request any person to leave the club premises if he or she, in the opinion of the management, is not suitably attired.

Golf Course

Gentlemen Required Dress: golf slacks, golf shirt (polo style or dress collar style), sweater or pullover, jacket and rain gear. Tailored shorts generally of a style and kind sold in the Golf Shop are acceptable. All clothing must be clean and in good repair. Golf shirts must have a collar (turtle neck, mock neck or polo). 

Prohibited Dress: denim of any colour, sleeveless shirts, fishnet shirts, shirtless, shirts without collars, shirts with garish, gaudy or vulgar slogans or advertising, sweatshirts and sweatpants, blue jeans, cut-offs, gym shorts or any shorts having an inseam less than five inches. Gentlemen are not permitted to wear golf headwear in the Dining Room, but are permitted to in the Spike Bar, Patio and Family Area. Headwear is not to be worn with the bill facing backwards at anytime, anywhere on property. 

**Metal Spikes are not permitted**

Ladies

Required Dress: shirts, slacks, golf shirts, and blouses, sweater or pullover, jacket and rain gear. Tailored shorts generally of a style and kind sold in the Golf Shop are acceptable, as are styled leisure suits. All clothing must be clean and in good repair. Golf shirts must have a collar (turtle neck, mock neck, v-neck or polo) and/or sleeves.

Prohibited Dress: denim of any colour, shorts, skirts or skorts shorter than mid-thigh, tank tops, fishnet tops, halters, shirts with garish, gaudy or vulgar slogans or advertising, sweat suits, blue jeans, cut-offs, or gym shorts. 

Ladies are not permitted to wear golf headwear in the Dining Room, but are permitted to in the Spike Bar, Patio and Family Area. Headwear is not to be worn with the bill facing backwards at anytime, anywhere on property.

Clubhouse 

Allowable attire for ladies, gentlemen and juniors is consistent with required dress for the golf course, with the following exception: Denim can be worn in all areas of the Clubhouse except the Dining room. Denim must not be frayed or ripped and ECC Management reserves the right to enforce this policy and refuse service if necessary if the quality of the denim is deemed to be unacceptable. 

Cell Phones 

Cell phones may be used discreetly in the clubhouse and on the golf course. Cell phones must be set with the ringer off. 

Smoking 

The Edmonton Country Club conforms to the City of Edmonton smoking BYLAW #13333. The purpose of this bylaw is to regulate smoking in certain locations so as to reduce the exposure of others to second hand smoke. This bylaw prohibits smoking within the building and all patios attached to the building. Smoking is permitted outside the main entrances to the building but may not be within 5 meters of any entrance (Amended November 2009). 

Guest Use of Practice Facilities 

Sponsored guests are allowed to utilize the Practice Facilities only if they are registered to play golf the same day.
